The International Air Transport Association (IATA) has issued a regulation to limit the powerbank capacity that may be brought into the aircraft.

This is related to two recent incidents of explosion powerbank. First, occured on January 30, 2018 where the powerbank from one of the passengers of an Aeroflot exploded on the way from Moscow. And the second, occured on February 25, 2018 where the powerbank exploded on China Souther Airlines aircraft.

In Indonesia, the rules related powerbank has been published by Angkasa Pura II as a operator of Soekarno-Hatta Airport through its official twitter account on March 6, 2018.

In essence, a powerbank with a capacity above 100 Wh (equivalent to 27.000 mAh) but still under 160 Wh needs approval from the airline to get into the cabin.

Only powerbank with a capacity under 100Wh or 27.000 mAh (voltage 3.6 V - 3.85 V) is allowed to get into the cabin.

While powerbank with a capacity above 160 Wh is not allowed into the cabin.
